Our Mission

The Parish Finance Council provides consultative vote, which assists the pastor in meeting his canonical obligations (cf. can. 1280). While it does not have decision making authority, consultation is at the heart of the decision-making process–sharing information, listening, contributing to the discussion, and promoting consensus.

What We Do: The Finance Council is charged with overseeing the parish finances, developing an annual budget, approving expenses over $10,000 and advising the pastor on financial aspects of the parish. Every parish is required to have a Parish Finance Council, both by adherence to the Code of Canon Law.

Where/When:  We meet regularly with specific agendas and has access to all the relevant financial information and policies of the parish. 

Note: The Finance Council is composed of four lay persons and the Pastor.
